Christmas has come early - today the Prime Minister announced that the scheme has launched, and the first 125,000 qualifying households to sign up will receive their voucher for £400.

According to a source within British Gas, the scheme will commence in April 2010.

Npower is offering consumers £400 off their new boiler (on top of the government's £400) when they replace one that's more than 10 years old. People do not have to be Npower customers to qualify, the so long as the boiler is bought and installed by Npower.
